Case Studies » New Orleans Galleria
Location: Metairie, Louisiana
The Galleria is located in Metairie, Louisiana. The building has 21 stories and is 269 feet tall. Made of brass, marble and glass, this building features 466 individual office spaces. It was completed in 1986 and is the second tallest building in Jefferson Parish. The building’s primary use is as office space. Six towers that were equal in height were originally planned, but this one is the only one that was built.
The building sustained a lot of wind damage, due to its height, but no flood damage. This building was seen on a lot of the media coverage after Hurricane Katrina, because evacuees were picked up by buses on the I-10 that is located right in front of this building.
